ABOUT SANTOTIPO

SantoTipo is an open launching that works for the development of experimentation around typography.
Among the years since the beginning, SantoTipo has grown up from the periphery to the center of the experimental scene.

We are proud to thank the hundreds of collaborators who send their photos and works to us. With this, that awaken look we propose could sum thousands of eyes. And now the mirror has been amplified.

We want to thank, moreover, to those friends who quote and refer us, making this amplification possible.

With all the gathered material, it was possible to build up a situational sketch map, a perspective of the non-professional communicative processes, flattened into an open, collective, unfinished registry, in a state of permanent redefinition.

Paradoxically, the result is the expansion of the professional view, who folds up which went unnoticed before.

The rescue actions that are made through this project run from the professional world outskirts to its very center. These actions requires an alert look as well as an effort in cropping and selecting.

In this globalize world, the cosmopolitan urban centers aim to create homogenization and similarity. The geographic, economic, cultural and politic peripheries are the elements that mostly keep, by the cause of their own situation, their original features.

We go to the rescue of the periphery, and it ends rescuing us from homogenization.
